This presentation will provide an overview of Reflect Review with input from one of our customers in the architectural field. Unity may be best known for gaming, but we’ve taken the power of the Unity Engine and applied it to Architecture, Engineering and Construction too! Our Reflect product suite connects project stakeholders with BIM data in a collaborative real-time environment. LECTURE: Design Collaboration with Unity Reflect Review The key element is to begin with understanding the clients’ needs and why digital twins are important from both the owners’ and consultants’ perspectives. Graham will show positive outcomes such as time savings to project delivery and top-down buy-in. Dr Graham Kelly will share with you lessons learnt from data optimization and digital twin development based on some of our real projects over the past 10 years including the Sydney Opera House, Hong Kong mass transit rail and a Gold Mine in Greece. This is an important enabler for achieving not only a connection between the asset and its data, but for the realization of net zero emissions targets, climate change resilience and a truly circular economy. The use of the digital twin is expanding, but to maximize its impact, the digital twin needs to be all about interoperability, ensuring secure and resilient data flows seamlessly between all parties in the supply chain. LECTURE : Digital Twin Development and Deployment with Real-time Results We will show final examples through a VR headset that illustrate the end quality possible with these techniques. We will discuss techniques of utilizing 360 panoramas, DSLR photogrammetry, and laser scanning, covering postproduction workflow through reality capture, Maya, then final import into the Unity game engine. ![]() This short talk will present an overview of the workflow of capturing and utilizing physical locations in order to make powerful, real-time, volumetric, 6DOF (six degrees of freedom) virtual reality (VR) experiences. But, have you considered how it all comes together? This talk will take a look at how quality, well thought out BIM content is the key to a successful BIM project delivery.Įric Hanson USC, School of Cinematic ArtsīIM BOP: Production Technique in Capturing Reality We will look at the use of VR to drive lasting decision making with project stakeholders during design development and AR to study future work in the context of existing conditions to flush out constructability issues early.īIM BOP : BIM Content - The DNA of a Digital BuildingĮveryone talks and thinks of BIM within the context of a complete digital building. This presentation will dive into a couple of stages in the construction lifecycle where McCarthy uses VR & AR technology. The technologies have continued to make great strides in development, but it can also be overwhelming reviewing the countless capabilities this technology has to offer. VR & AR technology made its introduction years ago within the construction industry. What are some of the trends you should prepare for?Įddie Espinoza VDC Southern Pacific - McCarthy Building Companies Let's fix that.īIM BOP: The Evolving Foundations of Computational DesignĬomputational design tools continue to become a larger and larger part of our workflow. Having issues with 2D contract drawings not reflecting the BIM model? Models not getting updated? As projects move beyond the design phase, proprietary software becomes common place, so does that lack of interoperability and a general lack of coordination between 2D, 3D and specialty teams. This presentation will going briefly explain why architects, engineers, builders and owners need to embrace both technologies to have a complete digital twin.īIM BOP : Using Revizto to Integrate 2D and 3D Workflows Without both, project stakeholders have a 3D model with some information. Updates will be posted when known.īuilding information modeling (BIM) and geographic information systems (GIS) are the underlying foundations of a digital twin.
